I can’t quite believe that The Potion Diaries is launching in TWO DAYS time, and the official launch party is tonight, and the blog tour is happening and OH MY it’s all exciting times.

There are *lots* of different places to find me on the inter webs this week, and here are a selection:

I love the juxtaposition with Magic Mike here ;)

I love the juxtaposition with Magic Mike here 😉

There are The Potion Diaries banners running on Sugarscape, and they’re hosting an AMAZING competition to win a ‘Make Your Own Fragrance’ day with Red Letter Days and a signed copy of the book! Enter the Sugarscape Competition here!

I wrote a piece for Foyles on “Generation HP” – the influence of JK Rowling and Harry Potter on today’s authors.

MaximumPop! has a piece about Which of Sam Kemi’s Potions do you need today?

On Bookbrunch I wrote a piece on how an Old English word inspired The Potion Diaries (it’s behind a paywall at the moment so I’ll link to it when it goes public).

There will be even more going live later this week so keep checking in.

I’m also visiting some AMAZING blogs, so check these out as the week goes by:

If you want to buy The Potion Diaries, it’s available already (shh) over on!

Moar blog tour and other things…

This past weekend, I was a bridesmaid! The photographer was the wonderful Mr. Phill, so I will be sure to direct you to the wedding blog when there are pictures.

I can’t believe that next week is *drumroll* LAUNCH WEEK. This is so exciting! My pre-order contest from below is now CLOSED, so I will announce the winners tomorrow. Thank you so much to everyone who entered. I did get a huge box load of books, so I’m sure there will be a giveaway in the blog’s future.

SO! What’s happening launch week? Well, not a huge amount in person (I do have that pesky day job, you know) but the launch party is happening on Thursday, 6th June at Daunt Books in Marylebone from 6.30pm-8pm. Please come along for books, cupcakes, general bookish fun, and maybe to see a grown woman cry. (That might be my mum, might be me, might be both :))

Don’t worry, the cupcakes aren’t scary, just delicious…

And then I’m on blog tour! The second half of the Totally Random Tour is happening. The highlight this week is definitely going to be the Facebook chat on Wednesday between 5-6pm on the Totally Random FB page. Emma Pass, Kaz Mahoney and I had a great time on Goodreads (click the link to read our answers), doing a live discussion amongst ourselves, so I’m REALLY looking forward to answering reader questions. And that’s the night before I launch so I will be ridiculously excited.

Mon 3rd – “Dream literary dinner party guestlist” – BOOK PASSION FOR LIFE
Tue 4th – “Places that inspire your writing” – SABLE CAUGHT
Wed 5th – “Webchat” – TOTALLY RANDOM FACEBOOK (5-6pm)
Thurs 6th – “Soundtrack to your writing” – WONDROUS READS
Fri 7th – “Group interview” – TOTALLY RANDOM BOOKS

But that’s not all… I’m ALSO releasing in Canada on TUESDAY. That means technically I will be a published author in TWO DAYS. Wut?!

So the lovely folk at Doubleday Canada have also organized a blog tour for me… one with a distinctly more Canadian flavour (that means it is essentially dripping in maple syrup, so it’s extra sweet). Here’s the schedule for that:

Mon 3rd – Me On Books
Tues 4th – Confessions of a Reading Addict
Wed 5th – More Than Just Magic
Thurs 6th – Cozy Up with a Good Read
Fri 7th – Retreat by Random House

I’m only marginally less shouty about the Canadian release because in two weeks I’ll be over there, shouting in person! You’ll have had far too much of me by then.

I will also be featured on the Lucky 13s blog, Author Allsorts and One Four Kid Lit blogs on the 6th June, so essentially, I’ll be all over the darn internet! Let me know if there’s some obscure corner that I haven’t reached, okay?

Totally Random Tour details, with Emma Pass and Karen Mahoney!

Lots of people are finding the blog at the moment thanks to last year’s post on the Edinburgh Marathon. It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since I ran 26.2 miles but GOOD LUCK to anyone running this weekend! Stay hydrated, feel confident in your training and don’t try anything new! Haha.

I’m very excited to be able to share with you a few more details of the TOTALLY RANDOM TOUR, which I referenced in my last blog. This is a blog tour with a twist, as I’m going to be featured alongside Emma Pass – who wrote a dystopian novel called ACID set in a future Britain and with the most kick-ass female lead since Lisbeth Salander, and Karen Mahoney – who wrote THE IRON WITCH trilogy about a girl whose arms are covered in magical iron tattoos. The final book, THE STONE DEMON is out now and I devoured the entire trilogy in about three days so that just goes to show how addictive and compulsive this series is!

We’re going to be chatting about some great topics like our Top 5 writing tips, our dream cast, places that have inspired us and so much more. We’re also going to be having a group discussion on Goodreads on Friday 31st May, which will be a live panel discussion between the three of us, so make sure you check that out between 6pm-7pm. And then you’ll have the chance to ask us questions in a webchat on the Totally Random Facebook on Wednesday June 5th from 5-6pm. That’s the day before my book comes out officially in the UK, so I’m not sure how coherent I’ll be or just totally *WTF*OMG*LOL* excited.

Mon 27th – “Our Top 5 writing tips!” – MOVELLAS
Tue 28th – “Book Reviews” – SUGARSCAPE
Wed 29th – “If I wasn’t a writer, I would be…” – CHICKLISH
Thurs 30th – “Dream Cast” – BOOKS FOR COMPANY
Fri 31st – “Group Discussion” – GOODREADS 6pm-7pm

Mon 3rd – “Dream literary dinner party guestlist” – BOOK PASSION FOR LIFE
Tue 4th – “Places that inspire your writing” – SABLE CAUGHT
Wed 5th – “Webchat” – TOTALLY RANDOM FACEBOOK (5-6pm)
Thurs 6th – “Soundtrack to your writing” – WONDROUS READS
Fri 7th – “Group interview” – TOTALLY RANDOM BOOKS

See you there!
